Small white - Artogeia rapae

Family: Pieridae

Flight Time: March - November

Size: 46-55mm

Altitude: 0-3000m

It's taken me ages to get a decent photo of a small white. Bright whiteness is very difficult to deal with. The camera sometimes makes it too grey , other times there is just too much reflected light to get any detail. This one worked, lucky I guess! A bit of a pest, its' caterpillars feed on Cabbage, giving it another common name. There are a number of other 'Small whites' in Europe which can be difficult to tell apart.
