The scalloped edge to the hindwing and the large eyespots help separate this species from the similar Dusky meadow brown, Hyponephele lycaon. The best feature however is on the upperside of the male, which has no veins crossing the dark patch in lupina. Photos from Mark Ogden taken in Bulgaria. |
