Striped grayling - Pseudotergumia fidia

| Similar in habits to the Tree grayling, but instantly recognisable (on settling) by the strong white banding. They seemed very alert to any movement and proved quite tough to get close enough to photograph. This one landed conveniently on a wall. This specimen was photographed in Provence. | |
