Cyprus meadow brown - Maniola cypricola
![]() |
Family: Satyridae Flight Time: April - October Size: 40-48mm Altitude: 0-1000m |
| Although superficially similar to the Meadow brown, Maniola jurtina, found across most of Europe there are noticeable behavioural and structural differences. The hindwing has a few yellow ringed ocelli, and a variable wavy band. The butterfly itself was more active, and was almost elusive on Cyprus in April, somewhat different to the rather laboured actions of the Meadow brown. | |
