Swiss brassy ringlet - Erebia tyndarus
![]() |
Family: Satyridae Flight Time: July - August Size: 34 - 36mm Altitude: 1200 - 2700m |
| One of several very similar species. The metallic leading edge of the forewing gives them their common name. Separation from the Common brassy ringlet Erebia cassioides is made by looking at the two small ocelli on the forewing. In tyndarus the spots are small and do not touch each other. Hindwing and underside markings are not constant and should not be used for identification. | |
