Meleager's blue - Meleageria daphnis

| Meleager's blue has a scalloped hindwing which makes it stand out from other blues. Photos from Mark Ogden taken in Bulgaria, July 2007. It is quite a local species in western Europe, but more common further east. The male upperside is bright blue, the females is bordered with dark brown and tends to be more heavily marked on the underside. |
