Silver-studded
blue - Plebejus argus
  |
Family: Lycaenidae.
Flight Time: Mid June - August. (bivoltine in
Europe)
Size: 24-34mm
Altitude: 0-2000m |
| Notes: Named for its silver mark within the
spots on the underside hindwing. There are a couple of very similar
species in Europe, to make things even more tricky there are quite a
number of named forms of this species! The foreleg has a spine, just
visible in the closeup which separates it from the similar Idas blue, Plebejus
idas. |
