Geranium bronze - Cacyreus marshalli

Family: Lycaenidae. Flight Time: Summer.

Notes: I was walking along the seafront in the resort of Nerja when I saw a few of these flying. The are not native to Europe but seem to be catching on quick having been imported from South Africa with their foodplant. Quite an attractive and unusual species. The picture to the left was taken in Provence, where they were also common. |
