The Butterflies of NormandieFive départements comprise Normandie, namely Manche, Calvados, Orne, Eure and Seine-Maritime An important heathland area Species of note include: Large chequered skipper, Silver-studded blue, Sooty copper, Ilex hairstreak, Dark green fritillary and Grayling. Of particular note is the presence of the Alcon blue.
Beech forest containing meadows and mire. Species of note include: Marsh fritillary (in the mire area), Camberwell beauty, Ilex and White-letter hairstreak, Map, Silver-washed fritillary and Lesser purple emperor.
Large wood. Species in early July. Map, White Admiral, Dingy Skipper, Silver-washed Fritillary, Sooty Copper, Dingy Skipper, Common Blue, Essex Skipper, Mazarine Blue and Purple Hairstreak.
Visit in early July Near to reserve Common Blue, Gatekeeper, Meadow Brown, Small Heath, Clouded Yellow and Brimstone. Aerodrome near to reserve Mallow Skipper, Chalkhill Blue, Swallowtail, Brown Argus, Peacock, Large White, Large Skipper, and Red Admiral Downland in reserve Berger’s Clouded Yellows, Adonis Blue, Dark Green Fritillary, Swallowtail and Chalkhill Blue, Marbled White, Large Skipper, Small Skipper, Comma and Speckled Wood.
Large forest visited in early July Pearly Heath, Wood White, Silver Washed Fritillary, Dingy Skipper, Ringlet and Green-veined White, White Admiral, Holly Blue, Purple Hairstreak and Map present but not seen Lesser Marbled Fritillary and Purple Emperors.

Marais de la Sangsuriere A marshy nature reserve south of St Sauveur. A good colony of Marsh fritillary.
