Pupation of the Comma
I've simplified the stages a little.
|1. The larva hangs head down and starts to swell.||2. After a short time the skin splits across the back of the head,|
|3. and is then thrust down the body.||4. The pupas cremaster breaks free of the larval skin|
|5. and reattaches itself to the silken pad.||6. The still wet and soft pupa then dries out and hardens.|
